Lincoln by Christina Bauer (Angelbound Origins #1.5) Review

First, I didn’t realize that Christina Bauer tends to write her books OUT of order. For some reason, I kind of love that about her. The very first in the Angelbound series was published in 2013! TWO THOUSAND AND THIRTEEN. While book #2, Scala was published in 2014. THIS book takes place after the first book and was JUST released. So yeah. Anyway. Maybe that’s not your thing. Maybe you’re more of a ‘read in a certain order’ kinda person and this bugs you. I don’t know..but I like this! I did read the first book in the series before reading Lincoln. Because I mean..I wanted to read the FIRST, first. If you haven’t read the first book, go do it. Because it is so freaking good. I can’t even begin to tell you how much I loved it! AND what’s more? It’s not a quick 150-200 page book. When my Kindle showed me over 450 pages? I got giddy. Straight. Up. GIDDY. It didn’t realize the page count until I was already through the first 8 chapters. Okay, but seriously. Go read book 1. You can find my review for that one here too 😉

I mean, wow.

I loved loved loved it. It’s been a quite awhile since I’ve really been able to dive into a story that has such an interesting take on world building, characters, mythology and all that. I wasn’t sure if it would be monotonous reading essentially the same story but from a different POV, but it really was great!

I LOVED seeing this side of Lincoln and getting to know more behind the scenes of the inner workings of his mind and also his daily life and the constant struggles he faced.

I already have book 3, Scala, primed and ready on my Kindle!

I’m so excited to have found this series! I can’t wait to find out what trouble these guys are going to get into throughout the rest!

***Experience the events of Angelbound from Prince Lincoln’s point of view…And then enjoy an all-new part of his story!***

When it comes to fighting demons, Prince Lincoln is the greatest warrior in the history of his people, the thrax. Now Lincoln faces his hardest fight yet…and it’s not on a traditional battlefield.

Lincoln is falling in love. And the girl is part demon.

Between a fated dance at the Ryder mansion…a life-changing walk through a hedgerow maze…and a massive battle with none other than the King of Hell…Lincoln realizes that he wants to share his life with Myla Lewis, the part-demon girl who has captured his heart. However, an evil thrax noble—the powerful Earl of Acca—is prepared to do anything to stop Lincoln and Myla from having a future.

But Lincoln won’t give up on his Myla. Ever.

To fight Aldred, Lincoln works to create a different kind of marriage—an Alliance of the lesser thrax houses against Acca. Sadly, just as Lincoln starts to makes some progress, the nobles who’ve joined his Alliance begin to vanish. Is Aldred behind the disappearances, or is someone else vying for power? When Lincoln discovers the truth, it upends his entire world, threatening his future with Myla in ways no one could ever have imagined.

“I absolutely love Christina Bauer’s style, full of action, intense scenes, and characters that will test one’s imaginations to the max!”Tome Tender Book Blog

Author Bio:

Christina Bauer thinks that fantasy books are like bacon: they just make life better. All of which is why she writes romance novels that feature demons, dragons, wizards, witches, elves, elementals, and a bunch of random stuff that she brainstorms while riding the Boston T. Oh, and she includes lots of humor and kick-ass chicks, too.

Christina graduated from Syracuse University’s Newhouse School with BA’s in English along with Television, Radio, and Film Production. She lives in Newton, MA with her husband, son, and semi-insane golden retriever, Ruby.
