Obsidian by Kimberly Loth (Dragon Kings #1) Review

The cover for Obsidian by Kimberly Loth caught my eye so many times I’ve lost count. I added it to by Goodreads TBR as well as a private “list” on Amazon just in case it got lost in the mix somehow. Well, I finally got around to purchasing it and I read it cover to cover within a few hours. The synopsis doesn’t reveal too much so going into the story all I really knew was that SO many readers in my book groups on Facebook were talking about how much they loved it. That was all I knew!

Sid’s human innocence mixed with Aspen’s fearlessness = a great combination!

Well let me just tell you something..I really really really really…really liked this book. Really. I loved how fearless Aspen was when faced with so many different predicaments. I loved Sid’s sweet innocence and all the emotions he experienced for the first time too!
This might seem silly to some but to read a book that wasn’t half filled with sex scenes and focused more on character relationship and world dynamics was so refreshing. Hey I can get down with the former but still, this book was great because it’s something I could eventually let my oldest son read. Maybe not just yet because he’s 9. But, in the next couple years sure!
Anyway! I can’t wait to start into book #2 in this series tonight. It’s called Aspen! If it’s anything like Obsidian, I’m going to be done with it in no time and will definitely be sure to share my review for it!
